Course Descriptions for Spring 2026 Semester (with Textbook Assignments)
Principles and Methods of Teaching (CED 401) – 3 hours
The student will learn the “how” of teaching so that they will be equipped to teach effectively and creatively. A study of the laws of learning, the seven laws of teaching and the teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit is covered. Group demonstration, practice, student and teacher evaluations are included.

Church Administration (PTE 402) – 2 hours
This course is a basic “how to” course for Church management. The student learns to coordinate and track membership, volunteers, gifts, attendance, and programs; some emphasis is given to dispute resolution and problem-solving.

Poetical Books (OTB 401) – 3 hours
A study of the books: Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and The Song of Solomon. The purpose of each book and its contribution to the whole of Scripture is emphasized. The course further introduces and examines the character and interpretation of Bible poetry.

Revelation (NTB 401) – 3 hours
This course is an intensive study of the message of Revelation, a discussion of the various interpretive approaches to the book, and consideration of its relation to other parts of Scripture. The book’s unique symbolism is examined, and its contribution to pre-millennial eschatology is a focal point. Special emphasis is given to the Person and work of Christ in the epistle.

Baptist Church History (HIS 301) – 2 hours
This course will share with the student the history, development and distinctions
of the Baptist church as a denomination in Christendom.

English Composition (ENG 201) – 2 hours
A continuing study of the principles of writing with more extensive application of the principles. narrative, descriptive and argumentative writing will be studied with a brief survey of poetic forms.
